Pace Charts

Find your goal time. See the paces you need.

Pre-built reference tables for every major race distance — from 5K to marathon. Pick your target finish time and instantly see the pace per kilometer or mile, plus checkpoint splits to stay on track.

What Are Pace Charts?

A pace chart is a pre-calculated reference table that shows the pace you need to maintain for a given finish time. Instead of doing mental math mid-race, you look up your goal time and instantly see the required pace per kilometer or mile — plus your expected time at key checkpoints like 5K, 10K, and halfway. These charts assume even splits (constant pace throughout) so you know your target from the first step.

How to Use a Pace Chart on Race Day

Before the race, find the row matching your goal finish time and note your target pace and checkpoint times. Write these on a wristband or pace band. During the race, compare your actual splits against the chart at each checkpoint. If you're ahead of schedule, ease off slightly to avoid a late-race fade. If you're behind, you'll know exactly how much you need to make up. Even splits give you the best chance of a strong, consistent performance.

Why Even Pacing Matters

Research from the European Journal of Sport Science consistently shows that the fastest marathon and half marathon finishes come from runners who maintain an even pace or slightly negative splits. Starting too fast depletes glycogen reserves prematurely and leads to exponential slowdowns after 30K. Our charts are built around even pacing because it's the strategy proven to produce the best race results across all distances.
